Liverpool to Chelsea - £18mCertainly one of the more shocking and unexpected signings of the summer. Meireles made a big impact at Anfield having joined Liverpool from Porto the previous summer.
With Chelsea in the market for a new midfielder following injury to Michael Essien and Meireles being relegated to the subs bench for Liverpool's first three games of the season, Meireles moved to Stamford Bridge on transfer deadline day.
The Portuguese midfielder signed for Chelsea for £12 million in what may turn out to be one of the bargains of the summer.
