He first made an impact in the competition by scoring five goals for Marseille during the 2003-04 season.

He moved to Chelsea the following year and has since scored 31 Champions League goals for the Blues.

The Ivory Coast international scored 6 goals in 2007-08 as Chelsea finished runners-up to English rivals Manchester United.
