Three Players Chelsea Must Sign This Summer To Win The Premier League

Jose Mourinho is back. The self proclaimed 'Special One' – or 'Happy One' as he now refers himself to – is back in the Premier League with Chelsea after stints in Italy and Spain.

Mourinho has worked quickly in the transfer market already, bringing in Andre Schurrle, Mark Schwarzer and Marco Van Ginkel.

But who else could Chelsea add to their already impressive squad as they look to mount a serious title challenge on the two Manchester clubs?

Wayne RooneyManchester United - £25-£30million

The Manchester United forward, 27, has long been linked with a move away from Old Trafford since his snub during Manchester United's last 16 Champions League tie against Real Madrid last season.

Rooney, who earns a staggering £250,000 a week, had apparently asked for a transfer at the end of last season – with his future seemingly in jeopardy.

However, David Moyes quickly put these rumours to bed in his first official press conference, labeling Rooney 'not for sale'. The Scot however was not able to confirm whether or not Rooney was happy to stay at Old Trafford.

Manchester United will be reluctant to sell to a title rival - especially Chelsea, but a return on the £30million United paid for the player 9 years ago may be too tempting of an offer.

Christian Benteke – Aston Villa - £25million

Having missed out on top transfer targets Radamel Falcao, and seemingly Edinson Cavani, Chelsea remain in the market for a centre forward.

Despite having Fernando Torres, Demba Ba and Romelu Lukaku on the cards, and possibly Wayne Rooney, the recent announcement regarding Christian Benteke has seen Chelsea being linked with the Belgian forward.

After scoring 23 goals last season and keeping Aston Villa in the Premier League – Benteke, 22, broke the heart of Villa fans when he handed in a transfer request on Monday.

£25million is a lot of money for a player who at the start of the season saw more balls bounce of his shin than hit the net. However, his second half of the season form saw his stock rise exceptionally high, and he could be on his way to Stamford Bridge this summer.

Sami Khedira – Real Madrid - £15-£18million

With the likes of Juan Mata, Oscar and Eden Hazard in the side, it's important that the Chelsea rearguard is given some protection.

John Obi Mikel is rumoured to be on his way out of the club, whilst Frank Lampard is not getting any younger. Ramires will be a big player for Chelsea next season, but can't do the job on his own.

It seems as though that there were not many players that Mourinho didn't clash with at Madrid, but Khedira is one that appears to have remained loyal.

Knowing that he can trust the German international, Mourinho could make a move for him to plug the gap in front of his defence.

Chelsea already boast arguably one of the most dangerous squads in world football. With Jose Mourinho coming back to the Bridge, Chelsea fans can expect a successful, prosperous campaign.
