Think long term: Hiddink in a new plea to Chelsea owner Abramovich

Roman Abramovich is earning a reputation for hiring and firing his coaches, but Guus Hiddink is urging Chelsea[LNB]'s billionaire benefactor to match Liverpool[LNB]'s model andplan for the long term. [LNB]Rafael Benitez, who has guided Liverpool to two Champions League finals since he was appointed in 2004, signed a new five-year contract at Anfield this week which will extend his stay on Merseyside until 2014. [LNB]Abramovich has fired four coaches Claudio Ranieri, Jose Mourinho, Avram Grant and Luiz Felipe Scolari since Benitez arrived at Liverpool, but he will attempt to keep his interim coach beyond the summer.
