THE INSIDER: Tottenham target Dunne, Alonso attracts Real interest and Man City set sights on a bril
Simon Jones is Sportsmail's man on the inside of all the biggest (and smallest) transfer moves this summer. His column, published every weekday, offers an insight into the deals which will be done and those that won't - and why. A 5/5-rating means The Insider reckons it's a done deal; 0/5 means The Insider has his mortgage on it not happening Don't miss your daily instalment of The Insider every weekday through the transfer window here at MailOnlinee. Richard Dunne Manchester City to Tottenham - The Insider says: 2/5Harry Redknapp is keen to bolster his defence, is a big fan of Dunne and tried to sign him when he was manager of Portsmouth. But the Spurs boss may try to find better quality before offering the Manchester City player a deal. Other clubs will be interested in the Republic of Ireland international, who will be allowed to leave City for a cut price deal of around £6million. Xabi Alonso Liverpool to Real Madrid - The Insider says: 4/5There are a still a few twists left in this tale, but the money on offer from Real Madrid is tempting for Liverpool. The cash will allow Rafa Benitez to structure the squad the way he wants, but Alonso's passing ability would be a devastating loss for Liverpool, especially after the club missed out on the signature of Gareth Barry. Alonso would prefer to stay in England and Liverpool may yet have to field offers from Premier League rivals, but Benitez favoured option would be to sell to a foreign club. Alexandre Pato AC Milan to Chelsea - The Insider says: 3/5Milan have reservations about selling 'The Duck' on top of Kaka's impending departure. The two are firm favourites at the San Siro and Milan would need to have big names in line to appease their fans if both players were to leave. But Pato was a target for Chelsea and Real Madrid before he joined Milan, and is well-known by sporting director Frank Arnesen and, of course, incoming Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti. Tuncay Middlesbrough to Liverpool - The Insider says: 1/5The striker is down the list of targets at Anfield, but there is strong interest back in Turkey from Fenerbache. Chelsea also have Tuncay on their radar and may make a move if they fail to land other targets. The striker is likely to command a fee of between £5m and £7m as he has a proven Premier League record. Portsmouth may also show an interest once their due diligence is finished today. Edin DzekoWolfsburg to Manchester City - The Insider says: 3/5The highly-rated Bosnia international has been targeted by several Premier League sides this season. He scored 30 goals in 33 games for Bundesliga champions Wolfsburg, which has alerted Tottenham and Chelsea. Dzeko's price is also more affordable than some of the more illustrious names in Europe, as Wolfsburg are looking for around £12m. Powerful in the air, the 6ft 3ins striker would provide the perfect alternative to Roque Santa Cruz as manager Mark Hughes has grown tired of haggling between City and Santa Cruz's club, Blackburn Rovers. Dzeko may also represent better value for money.
