Terry set for Blues start
03 Oct 2007 - 11:36:00
Chelsea boss Avram Grant has confirmed that skipper John Terry is almost certain to start in the Champions League clash with Valencia, wearing a mask to protect his fractured cheekbone.
Terry was injured during the goalless draw with Fulham last Saturday, but is poised for a quickfire return to action in a bid to bolster the Blues' stuttering campaign.
Grant told reporters: "John Terry wants to play which is very good. He's someone who gives a good example.
"He's injured but wanted to continue, even in the last game. He's brave, he's a nice guy and his commitment is incredible. It's not an easy time for us and we need John Terry.
"Now we need to speak with the medical department and decide. The game that is nearest is the most important, as it will be for Valencia.
"We must forget the fact that we lost two points in the first match and get a good result.
"We want to win every game. If we can make the game exciting as well then we will do it, but we want to win the game."
