Terry's future remains unclear
13 Jul 2009 - 08:21:03
John Terry is set to hold further talks with Chelsea this week as speculation continues to link the England international with a move to Manchester City.
Reports suggest City will make a third offer for Terry this week after having two earlier bids rejected.
Terry met Chelsea's owner, Roman Abramovich, on Saturday after which the defender did not ask for an opportunity to speak to City.
However, it is believed that City are willing to double Terry's current £135,000-a-week salary as well as offering him a massive signing-on fee.
Chelsea insist the 28-year-old is not for sale and it is believed that they will reject any further bid for the Blues stalwart.
Carlo Ancelotti, chief executive Peter Kenyon and chairman Bruce Buck have all said in the last week that Terry will not be sold.
"John Terry is the symbol of this team, he will be captain," said Ancelotti.
"He wants to stay at Chelsea forever and we want to keep him forever."
