Terry eyes European success
06 Jun 2009 - 12:06:30
Captain John Terry believes Chelsea can finally conquer Europe following the appointment of Carlo Ancelotti as manager.
Two-time Champions League winner Ancelotti has agreed to take the reins at Stamford Bridge on a three-year contract from July and Terry is hoping the arrival of the Italian can lead to Chelsea finally being crowned kings of Europe.
Terry missed the decisive penalty in the 2007 final which saw Manchester United triumph in Moscow.
"To win the Champions League, it's a massive thing for me. With what happened in the Barca (semi-final) game (this season) and the final the year before that, it is still hurting," he said.
"We'll work hard to do our best next year. We're being linked with players that can maybe take us to that next level.
"As a player at Chelsea I'm happy and delighted that we're back in for these top players.
"It seems that for a couple of years we haven't been, but we're linked with the best players in the world again."
