Terry eyes early comeback

Chelsea captain John Terry believes he will be fit enough to return to action in this weekend's crunch FA Cup quarter-final against Tottenham.

The 26-year-old central defender has endured an injury-ravaged season and is recovering after being knocked unconscious during last month's Carling Cup final success against Arsenal.

The England international missed the midweek 2-1 Champions League win over FC Porto but has targeted a return to action on Sunday.

"I've seen a specialist and passed all tests and he's given me the go-ahead to join training - but without contact at the moment," Terry told Chelsea TV.

"I'm aiming towards Sunday but first and foremost I need to come through the next couple of days.

"It's good to be involved again."
