Terry baffled by Poll
07 Nov 2006 - 09:15:35
Chelsea skipper John Terry has hit out at referee Graham Poll for changing his reasons for sending him off in the 2-1 defeat by Spurs at White Hart Lane.
Terry was shown a second yellow card and then a red by Poll after a clash with Ledley King, although the England captain suggested that he may have been dismissed for barging into Hossam Ghaly.
"I'm still really baffled by it, I've looked at it myself over and over again," Terry told Chelsea TV.
"Me and Ledley fell to the floor, we got up, we had words, but I used to play Sunday football with him.
"On the pitch Graham Poll said to me it was for the barge on Ghaly. After the game it was said for the fall when me and Ledley King fell.
"So I'm just really disappointed, it was my first time being sent off for Chelsea."
