Terry back in training
30 Dec 2006 - 12:13:33
Chelsea captain John Terry has returned to training just 24 hours after undergoing successful surgery on his injured back.
The 26-year-old defender was pictured jogging at the club's Cobham training ground allaying fears he could be sidelined for up to six weeks.
Chelsea club doctor Bryan English has refused to put a timescale on Terry's absence with some predictions claiming the England skipper could be back in action in two weeks.
"I won't say exactly how long he is going to take to recover," English told the club's official website.
"When I hear so-called experts say that he's going to have a six-week recovery, when people comment when they don't know his pathology - I have a bit of a problem with that."
The absence of Terry has hit Chelsea hard with the Blues conceding six goals in the three Premiership matches he has missed.
The champions - who sold William Gallas and Robert Huth in the summer - are now four points adrift of Manchester United at the top of the Premiership table.
