Chelsea captain John Terry has agreed an extended five-year contract with the Premiership leaders.
The 23-year-old England international centre-half has been one of the shining lights in the Blues' superb start to the campaign and has already scored three Champions League goals this term.
His new extended deal runs until the summer of 2009.
After signing his fresh contract, Terry said: "I would love to stay with Chelsea for the rest of my career and I'm delighted to have signed."
Terry has been with Chelsea for seven years and has made nearly 200 first-team appearances for the club, as well as becoming a regular member of the England set-up under Sven-Goran Eriksson.
He made his Blues debut in October 1998 against Aston Villa in a League Cup tie, while his international bow came in June 2003 in a 2-1 friendly win over Serbia & Montenegro.
