John Terry will remain as Chelsea captain, but new manager Villas-Boas has warned that any dip in form could see him lose his place.[LNB] Villas-Boas is happy for the England skipper to stay as his leader on the field as he commands the respect of the squad.[LNB]Terry was handed the armband by Jose Mourinho back in 2004 and has played an integral part in the Blues' success in recent seasons.[LNB]Villas-Boas will continue with the status quo going into the new campaign but has hinted he will not shy away from dropping any players who are not performing at 100 per cent.[LNB]The Portuguese said: "John is the captain of this club and will continue to be, as long as he can perform to the utmost of his ability as he has in the last six years. [LNB]"He has been successful in his captaincy for most of the time. [LNB]"And he represents the successful history of this club in the last six or seven years. [LNB]"I know most of the players in the dressing room see John as a leader and a player who motivates them. [LNB]"So, if John is in the team, he will be the captain."[LNB]Villas-Boas has admitted the likes of Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba have the capacities needed to lead the side and expects his players to set an example with their behaviour both on and off the field. [LNB]He added: "We want them to triumph as persons, as social role models. When they do that, they triumph as players as well. [LNB]"And if we find other leaders, more social role models, for sure they will have the captaincy as well. [LNB]"Like Lamps and Didier who have taken the captaincy in different games. [LNB]"Because in the end, it's not a question of saying John is the only leader. There are lots of leaders in the dressing room."
