Terry not for sale - Kenyon

Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon has reiterated the club's stance that captain John Terry is not for sale. England skipper Terry continues to be linked with a big-money move to Manchester City, with reports have claiming they are prepared to pay £200,000 per week to the 28-year-old, whose lack of public comment on the matter has fuelled the speculation. But Terry has three years remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge and Kenyon is adamant he will not be leaving, telling Sky Sports News: "I don't know what they are offering but I am confident John is going to remain with us. We are not going to sell John, so it is irrelevant what another club will offer." He added: "John is a talisman. He is the heart of Chelsea, came through the Academy, he is our captain and has also become captain of England while he has been here. "We are very confident he will be leading us in the years to come." City have dominated the domestic transfer market this summer having already spent £50.5million on Gareth Barry, Roque Santa Cruz and Carlos Tevez. With a £25million deal for Emmanuel Adebayor in progress and their interest in Terry, City have taken over the big-spending mantle from Chelsea. The Blues, who have spent an estimated £700million since Roman Abramovich bought the club in 2003, have been relatively quiet in the transfer market but Kenyon claims that could change. "It is always fair to say, whatever season, you're always looking to bring in a bit of freshness," Kenyon said. "This season will be no different and the coach (Carlo Ancelotti) will probably want to influence how we play with another player."
