Real Mallorca are close to finalising a deal that would see Chelsea youngster Sergio Tejera join the club. The 19-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Mallorca where he represented the club's reserve side. Despite not playing for the first team during his stay in Spain, the Islanders' head coach Gregorio Manzano is said to have been so impressed with the midfielder that he made sure he signed the player permanently this summer. The final details of the transfer are being finalised with the former Spanish Under-18 international set to sign a four-year deal with Chelsea having first option on the player should he move on before 2011. Tejera has not featured for the Blues' first team since he joined from Espanyol three years ago but has played for the youth and reserve sides on a regular basis. "The subject is practically closed and in a few days' time the player will be totally Mallorca's," club sporting director Nando Pons told skysports.com.
