Taylor - Blues must wait

Uefa general secretary David Taylor says Chelsea must wait a little longer to see if charges will be brought against them for their players' behaviour following their UEFA Champions League exit. Michael Ballack and Didier Drogba were both singled out for criticism for intimidating Norwegian referee Tom Henning Ovrebo following the Blues' semi-final exit to Barcelona. Chelsea were leading the Catalan giants at Stamford Bridge 1-0 courtesy of Michael Essien's early stunner, but their players were unhappy Ovrebo failed to award them a spot-kick during the game following a number of separate appeals. Andres Iniesta's injury-time strike sent Guus Hiddink's side out of the competition prompting unhappy scenes from the likes of Ballack and Drogba, who felt they had been victimised by the referee. Inspector Taylor insists Uefa's disciplinary inspector is still reviewing the incidents at Stamford Bridge, although the club can expect to hear in the near future if charges will be brought against them. "Referring back to the incidents in the semi-final these are being looked at by a disciplinary inspector on behalf of Uefa to see if there should be any disciplinary charges brought," Taylor told Sky Sports News. "Until that is concluded. We don't know. "I think I said at the time that we would expect better from the individuals concerned, but whether there's sufficient evidence there to require disciplinary charges to be brought in terms of football's rules and regulations that's a matter that we'll find out about shortly."
