Sunderland v Chelsea: Lorik Cana backs Steve Bruce's men to cause upset

The Albanian is convinced Steve Bruce's team can undermine Chelsea's title challenge if they re-produce the form that brought Sunderland a 1-0 victory on his debut at Bolton last weekend. "Bolton was a hard opponent, but Chelsea is one of the best teams in Europe and probably one of the best teams in the world," said Cana who joined Sunderland from Marseilles in a £5 million summer capture. "We have to be organised and concentrate. We did that at Bolton - every player knew their job and worked really hard for the team. "Chelsea have players who can punish any mistake or drop in concentration, but we can surprise them if we play a hard pressing game like we did against Bolton. "Winning on Saturday will give us a lot of confidence, but we have to make sure everyone does their job again tonight, then again on Saturday, and in every game." On a personal note, Cana is relishing the prospect of his first home game in front of Sunderland fans following the win at Bolton. "I know about the passion of the fans in England, and we had 5,000 Sunderland supporters at Bolton to inspire us," said the 26-year-old former Marseilles skipper. "I really enjoyed it. Now I'm really excited to play for the big crowd at the Stadium of Light. It has to be our special place this season if we are to do well in the Premier League. "Teams like Chelsea don't lose many games - that is why they fight for championships - but if our supporters at home are as good as they were on Saturday, then it will be harder for Chelsea. "They will be expected to get a result, so we have nothing to lose. We are home and we will give everything we have." Despite a promising debut, Cana is adamant the Wearside club's fans will only see the best fo him later in the season. "Saturday was tough later in the game because I had a lot of travelling last week (with the Albanian national side)," Cana added. "But I think the games will be good for my fitness, and soon I will be at my strongest in England."
