Striker fears for Chelsea

Chelsea strike duo Didier Drogba and Andriy Shevchenko are both struggling to recover full fitness in time to face Barcelona on Tuesday.

Shevchenko missed Saturday's 2-0 win at Sheffield United with a leg muscle injury, while Drogba was replaced at half-time after taking a heavy knock to his right foot.

Should neither recover in time for the Champions League clash, Salomon Kalou is likely to be given the job of leading the line at the Camp Nou.

Blues boss Jose Mourinho said: "At the moment I don't know if one will play, both will play or neither will play. Drogba is feeling a lot of pain.

"In the first game against Barcelona we played without two keepers and maybe now is the time to play without two forwards and I will just take defenders and midfielders."

He added: "Kalou is improving a lot. Sometimes he's a little bit naive in his actions but the kid has a lot of qualities and to play in Barcelona would be a step ahead for him."
