Spurs can end Chelsea blues after 21 years of pain, insists Jermain Defoe

Jermain Defoe believes Tottenham can beat Chelsea on Saturday to wreck the champions' title defence and keep alive their own hopes of Champions League qualification. Spurs have not won at Stamford Bridge for 21 years and are four points behind Manchester City after dropping points at home against Arsenal and West Brom and seeing Roberto Mancini's side beat Blackburn 1-0 on Monday. Ton up: Jermaine Defoe scored his 100th Premier League goal against West Brom But Defoe told the Spurs website: 'It's a massive game. I think Chelsea have picked it up from their little dip in form but we always play well against the top teams and I think we are good enough to win. 'We all think we can get fourth.' Tottenham will discover the extent of Benoit Assou- Ekotto's hamstring injury on Wednesday. Michael Essien could play for Chelsea after scans showed he suffered only a minor tendon problem in the 3-0 win over West Ham.
