Petr Cech has attracted interest from Spanish giants Barcelona Barcelona are considering a move for Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech, according to reports in Spain. The Czech Republic international could replace Victor Valdes, who has yet to sign a new contract at the Nou Camp, says Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo. Cech, who joined Chelsea for £7million in 2004, has failed to regain the form he showed before suffering a fractured skull after a clash with Reading's Stephen Hunt in October 2006. It is rumoured Blues' owner Roman Abramovich could be willing to cash in on the goalkeeper, who is still just 26. Cech may also be tempted to move if Chelsea fail to win a trophy this season. The goalkeeper has been linked with Barcelona before and in November 2007 he told a Czech website: 'Can I imagine staying in England? That I cannot answer. 'So far I have been very happy at Chelsea and I have started to love the Premier League. I have got used to life in London and my wife and I like it. 'But in the case of Barcelona showing interest, yes, certainly it would be worth considering.' Cech's agent Pavel Zika said at the time: 'Petr is absolutely happy at Chelsea, but if he was to change clubs in the future, then three or four of the most famous clubs would come into account. And Barcelona are among them.'
