Skrtel motivated by Euro heartache

Martin Skrtel believes Liverpool can use their Champions League exit at the hands of Chelsea as motivation in the Premier League title race. The Reds were eliminated from the quarter-finals of the European Cup following a hard-fought 7-5 aggregate defeat to Guus Hiddink's Blues in a superb two-legged tie between the English rivals.Skrtel played in both games and, along with central defensive partner Jamie Carragher, struggled to contain the in-form Didier Drogba, who scored two goals and played an inspirational role to help Chelsea to the semi-finals.The Slovakia international admits Liverpool were hurt by the nature of the defeat but, ahead of Tuesday's league meeting with Arsenal, is hoping he and his team-mates can use the pain as motivation in their pursuit of a first title in 19 years."Every player wanted to win so badly," Skrtel told Liverpool's official website when asked about the defeat to Chelsea."And it hurts that we didn't but we can turn this pain into something positive by remembering how we felt at the end of the game and trying to make sure that we do not feel this way in any other games this season."I still feel that we have a good chance in the Premier League because we are in good form right now and even though we lost against Chelsea we still showed our winning mentality and our desire."If we keep showing these same qualities then the season could still end really well for us."The important thing now is just to look forward because there is still a lot for us to play for this season."[LNB]
