Sinclair makes Latics loan move

Wigan have signed striker Scott Sinclair on a season-long loan from Premier League rivals Chelsea. The 20-year-old is highly rated at Stamford Bridge and the Blues are keen to offer the youngster the opportunity of first-team experience elsewhere. Wigan have therefore taken advantage and Sinclair, who spent the second half of last season with Birmingham, will spend the 2009/10 campaign at the DW Stadium. Latics boss Roberto Martinez believes the England Under 20 international's versatility will create competition for places in his squad. Martinez told Wigan's official website: "Scott is a fantastic talent who can operate either up-front or out wide and I'm delighted to have him join us. "He'll certainly bring a lot of competitiveness to the team, and hopefully we can help him to continue progressing as a player."
