Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko has been offered an escape route from his Stamford Bridge misery after former club Dynamo Kiev revealed an interest in signing him on loan.
The 30-year-old Ukraine international has struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League following his £30million move from AC Milan last summer.
Shevchenko scored just four league goals during an injury interrupted first season in England and Kiev president Igor Surkis has suggested he would be interested in re-signing the club's legendary striker.
During five seasons with Dynamo - winning the league on each occasion - he scored 60 goals for the club.
"I said in every interview that there was a possibility that Shevchenko wouldn't play well for Chelsea," claimed Surkis.
"I've asked Shevchenko to ask his board to let him go to Dynamo on loan.
"If we qualify for the group stage (of the Champions League) we'll have only 24 hours to do all the paperwork.
"I'm ready to pay his salary instead of the Chelsea board, but I'm not ready to reimburse 45 million dollars to (Chelsea owner AS Roman) Abramovich for him.
"I don't know what's going on at Chelsea but I'm ready to take Shevchenko on loan.
"He does not have a small salary but I'm ready to pay that."
Shevchenko has yet to make an appearance for the Blues this season after being troubled by a groin strain.
