Sergio Aguero move to Chelsea stalls

Aguero is understood to be asking for £11 million gross a season, or £220,000 a week, which would leave the Argentine striker as the highest-paid player in the Premier League by a distance. The fee would also smash the British record £34 million Manchester City paid for Robinho. The 21-year-old Argentina international scored 17 goals in 34 matches last season and Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon was understood to have opened talks with Atletico, with super agent Pini Zahavi acting as an intermediary. Aguero, who is envisaged as a striking partner with Didier Drogba, stands just 5ft 7 in tall and has been hailed as the 'new Maradona.' He is engaged to the superstar's daughter Giannina and they have a son Benjamin Aguero Maradona. Meanwhile, Chelsea defender Slobodan Rajkovic has extended his loan spell at FC Twente for another season. The 20-year-old played 13 games for the Eredivisie side last season and has been told he is not part of Chelsea's plans for the campaign ahead. He was suspended for the first half of the 2008/09 season for allegedly spitting at a referee during a Serbia Under-21 match. He was initially given a one-year ban but it was lifted after several months. It will be Rajkovic's third season in the Dutch top flight as he also spent the 2007/08 campaign on loan at PSV Eindhoven.
