Scolari urges Drogba patience
01 Oct 2008 - 12:27:16
Chelsea head coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has urged supporters and pundits to be patient in their assessment of striker Didier Drogba, who is still recovering from a knee injury.
The 30-year-old Ivory Coast star has made four appearances in the last month for the Blues and will start in the Champions League clash with CFR Cluj on Wednesday evening.
However, Scolari is aware that his player is still some way short of full fitness and will be for several weeks to come.
He told reporters: "Didier has not played for two months so it is difficult. He is not 100 per cent ready.
"We need more time for Didier, but he will grow with every game he plays and eventually reach the same levels as before.
"Tonight we will see Didier better than in the last game.
"He is doing his job very well, but he needs more games and more time. I think he will need eight or ten more games."
