Scolari reveals new challenge

Luiz Felipe Scolari has revealed that the chance to turn Uzbekistan side Bunyodkor into one of Asian football's major powers was too good to turn down.[LNB] The former Chelsea boss surprised everybody when he decided to return to the game in a relatively low key manner following his sacking from the Blues in February.[LNB]The World Cup winning boss could have waited for a major job to become available in Europe such is his managerial pedigree but instead he opted for the challenge of transforming Bunyodkor into a major force in Asian football.[LNB]The club were only formed in 2005 but have won the Uzbekistan League Two title in 2006, League One crown in 2007 before completing the double last year.[LNB]Challenge"I want to aim for the progress of Uzbek football," he told The-AFC.com.[LNB]"I want Bunyodkor to win all the competitions they are going to play. This is a new situation for me but Uzbek football is developing fast.[LNB]"That is why I accepted Bunyodkor's proposal."[LNB]Scolari also indicated that the fact that Rivaldo, who he managed during the World Cup success of 2002, was playing for the club also persuaded him to take the job.[LNB]"I have very good relations with Rivaldo," he said. "When I received the offer I spoke to him and he told me the condition is really good."[LNB]
