Samuel Eto'o Set to Leave Chelsea for LA

What is it with Chelsea sucking the life out of so called star strikers? Torres is all but finished it seems; well he will never be back to his best. Demba Ba has scored just once in seven league appearances this season and now Samuel Eto’o, their latest acquisition, is likely to leave for MLS side, LA Galaxy, in January.

The Cameroon international has failed to have the impact on the Premier League that manager Jose Mourinho anticipated. With only two league goals in nine appearances and a total of four in fourteen outings across all competitions, the 32 year old striker is being tipped to jump on the bandwagon of ageing footballers and finish off his career in America.

Eto’o would potentially relish the challenge of teaming up with Irelands Robbie Keane, who has been a major hit with the LA Galaxy.

Having only signed for Chelsea in the summer on a one year contract, Eto’o may see the MLS as an opportunity to re-ignite his striking prowess and a perfect place to hang up his boots in the coming years.

Chelsea has really struggled in recent years to recruit a top class striker. Maybe their German forward Andre Schurrle is the answer? I highly doubt it though. There’s no doubt that Mourinho will have the checkbook out once again in January.
