Samp rubbish Abramovich talk
Sampdoria have denied a report that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is interested in buying the club.
A report in Italian newspaper Il Giornale on Tuesday claimed the Russian billionaire was in talks to buy the Genoa-based outfit.
However, Sampdoria have moved quickly to dismiss the speculation and insist current club president Dr Riccardo Garrone has no plans to sell his stake in the club.
A statement from Sampdoria read: "With regards to the report that appeared today in newspaper 'Il Giornale', Sampdoria states that the story is without foundation.
"The club reiterates that the hypothetical sale of share packages is absolutely not the intention of the club, or of its president Riccardo Garrone and the shareholders."
