Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has warned all of his players to expect to miss out on a number of games in the coming campaign, as he seeks to implement a rotation policy.
Mourinho believes he has a stronger squad than last season at his disposal and will shuffle his pack, although a number of injury problems may put those plans on hold for several weeks.
The Portuguese told Chelsea TV: "Everybody is intelligent enough to understand that we play around 60 matches a season and no-one plays 60 matches.
"If you are not first-choice at the beginning of the season you know that, step by step, you will get matches. Last season every player played more than 20 matches.
"When they come to Chelsea they know that it is not easy to play, but at the same time they know Chelsea normally progress in every competition, they reach finals or semis.
"We are playing a lot of matches. We need rotation so the players know it's difficult, but at the same time they know that the chances will be here for them."
