Rooney insists season will be a failure if United relinquish Premier League

Wayne Rooney insists Manchester United's season will have been a failure if they do not win the Barclays Premier League.[LNB]The defending champions are on course to land five trophies but they are being pegged back by Liverpool and Chelsea in the title race.[LNB]And after winning the league for the past two season, Rooney admits they cannot contemplate finishing anywhere but top.[LNB] Hotshot: Wayne Rooney has his eyes on retaining the title[LNB]'When you win the league, you know it will be even more disappointing the next season if you don't win it again,' said the England forward.'You've already proved you're good enough to do it, so you can't see it as anything but a failure if you don't retain the trophy.'The history of the club demands we continue winning, and the manager demands we continue winning.'[LNB]All smiles: Rooney[LNB]But Rooney has also revealed that the FA Cup is the trophy he is desperate to win this season.The United star has already tasted Champions League and Barclays Premier League glory at Old Trafford - but he has his eyes on the world's famous cup competition.'If I'm honest, it's probably the trophy I wanted to win the most when I was growing up,' he said. 'Like most kids I grew up dreaming of scoring the winner in an FA Cup final at Wembley.'Also, as an Everton fan I wasn't under any illusions that we were good enough to win the league, so the cup competitions were much more realistic.'The FA Cup has such a big history and that's stuck with me from back then. I still want to win it.'I've played in two finals with United and lost them both and that's a horrible feeling.
