Roman trusts me - Ancelotti
Chelsea coach Carlo Ancelotti insists he has the full support and trust of Blues owner Roman Abramovich.
The double-winners face title rivals Tottenham on Sunday in the midst of their worst run of results for over a decade. The Blues have won just two games in their past eight in all competitions and have slipped to third in the Barclays Premier League, sparking speculation over the Italian's future.
"He understands very well the problems," said Ancelotti of Abramovich. "The injuries we have had and that we played good football but didn't win, which affected our confidence. He understood that."
He added: "It's very important to have the support of the club and the players when moments are not good. You have to have trust with each other. He's been closer to us in this period compared to the other moments. I think I have trust in him and he has trust in me."
Ancelotti insists they will have a clearer picture of their title ambitions after then.
"I think it will be very important for us, the next games," said Ancelotti. "It will show if we are able to fight for the title this year.
"I'll try and take nine points. That's our aim. To take nine points. It's difficult to say a reasonable target. I'm not able to do this.
"We have to try to win against Tottenham and then try to prepare the game against United.
"At this moment the experience, character and personality are the most important qualities to help us move on quickly. Everyone can do more to help the team move on, not just the most important players. All my players are important."
