Robinho: I'll be world's best at City

Robinho claims his move from Real Madrid to Manchester City was motivated by his desire to become the best player in the world. The Brazil international left Real Madrid for Eastlands on the final day of the summer transfer window in British record £32.5million deal, snubbing overtures from Chelsea. The striker made an immediate impact on his arrival in the Premier League, but despite having 11 goals to his name has not found the net this year. However, the former Santos ace believes that the benefits of the regular football he secures under Mark Hughes at City will be of major assistance to his career. Robinho told his personal website: "Playing at Real Madrid gave me a lot of visibility and I'm grateful that I had the chance to play there. "But I knew that in that squad, I wasn't going to achieve my goal of being the best player in the world. That's why I decided to leave. "I had the ability and the skill to be in the first team but I didn't always play. I was only in the team off and on. "But at Manchester City, I play every match and I've scored 11 goals." Robinho is a slight doubt for City's Premier League trip to Arsenal on Saturday after coming off 20 minutes from the end of Brazil's 3-0 win over Peru in World Cup qualifying in midweek.
