Robinho: Manchester City inspired by Chelsea

Before the arrival of Roman Abramovich, Chelsea had enjoyed far more success than City in recent years but were still a million miles from the household name the Russian's oil billions have made them. [LNB]That is a blueprint which Robinho, the Brazil international signed as a statement of intent by Sheikh Mansour after he bought the Eastlands club in August, believes City are well equipped to follow. We may not be the biggest club yet, but let's not forget what Chelsea were four years ago. [LNB]"We can do as well as they've been doing in recent years. [LNB]'Manchester City are after big things and with the wealthy owners, anything is possible. We want to be up there and maybe win the Champions League one day. [LNB]"All I want to do is help the club, to repay the trust of the supporters and the team. [LNB]'I'm very pleased with the way things have gone so far and I'm hoping that one day we can rival clubs like Chelsea, and we will.'[LNB]Robinho knows he could well have been playing in a different shade of blue when Mark Hughes's side travel to Stamford Bridge on Sunday, but insists he is happy with the way things turned out. [LNB]He said: 'Chelsea came in with a good offer and they are a huge club. They also had a coach in Luiz Felipe Scolari at the time who I have a lot of respect for.
