Tom Henning Ovrebo incurred the wrath of Chelsea players and fans as Barcelona went through to the Champions League final against Manchester United on May 27. After the match, Didier Drogba confronted Ovrebo while Michael Ballack was furious with the official for not awarding a penalty. John Terry and Frank Lampard also surrounded the referee at the final whistle. Ovrebo refused to comment on the second-leg tie, but said: "My focus is now on my coming matches in Norway and the future. But since this happened I have been noticed more in the street and people are pointing." Chelsea admitted the events were 'regrettable' but still blamed Ovrebo. Asked whether he still harboured a passion for the game, Ovrebo said: "Why shouldn't I? It's always been part of my life since that age so it's hard to stop liking it because of one incident. At the moment I'm still very motivated." Meanwhile, former Premier League referee Graham Poll expects Uefa to hand out long suspensions to Drogba and Ballack. UEFA are still gathering evidence ahead of any action being taken against the club or their players. "I think there will probably be fairly hefty match bans, maybe eight to 10 for Drogba and five or six for Ballack," Poll said.
