Reports in Spain suggest Real Madrid have offered Chelsea £27million for Michael Ballack and Arjen Robben.

Robben has been linked with a move to Spain for much of the summer after new contract talks at Stamford Bridge stalled, while Ballack endured a difficult first season in England following last summer's transfer from Bayern Munich.

Real boss Bernd Schuster was recently quoted in Onda Madrid as saying: "I have not had any news of possible imminent arrivals, but I would be happy with that [Robben and Ballack].

"I have hopes and I'm not in a hurry.

"We will continue working and if there is any signing they would not have any problems adapting to our team."
