Real Madrid are considering a move for Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, according to the Daily Star today.

The 22-year-old impressed in La Liga last season on loan at Atletico Madrid and helped Diego Simeone’s side Win the Title reach the Champions League Final.

Los Blancos are looking for a long term replacement for 33-year-old stopper Iker Casillas and have reportedly been interested in Manchester United’s David De Gea but look set to miss out on with the Spaniard opening up contract talks with United.

Casillas made blunder between the sticks in the Madrid derby on Saturday which saw Atletico score their first of four goals in the match.

However Chelsea see Courtois as one of their most important assets as he is one of the world’s best shot stoppers at just 22.

But Madrid could yet make an offer that Chelsea will consider with reports in the Spanish media claiming that Los Blancos are will to offer Raphael Varane as part of the deal.

Thibaut Courtois has been Chelsea’s No. 1 this season, ahead of Petr Cech, and has made 41 saves this term, keeping 7 clean sheets.
