Ramires is the new Michael Essien! Fellow Brazilian Alex hails Chelsea's new midfield marauder

Big reputation: Ramires has been talked up by Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti and now Alex[LNB]Chelsea defender Alex believes the club have landed the next Michael Essien in new midfielder Ramires. [LNB]The Brazil international completed his £17million move from Benfica last week and was hailed by manager Carlo Ancelotti as 'the future' of Chelsea. [LNB]And Alex has also been quick to talk up the arrival of his compatriot, saying the 23-year-old could have as much impact in the Blues' side as the rampaging Essien.[LNB]'I was talking with Jose Bosingwa and we were saying how Ramires is a lot like Michael Essien,' said Alex. [LNB]'He's not as strong as Essien but he has the same style on the pitch. He goes forward very quickly, then he comes back and marks very well. He is a very good player.' [LNB]Alex added that he expects Ramires, who has been handed the No 7 shirt at Chelsea, to boost the Blues' goal threat from midfield.
