Chelsea's young Serbian defender Slobodan Rajkovic has been suspended from football for a year after spitting at a referee during the recent Olympic Games.
The 19-year-old has been banned for his reaction to being sent off during the 2-0 defeat to eventual Gold medallists Argentina.
A statement from FIFA read: "At its 1st September 2008 meeting, the FIFA Disciplinary Committee decided to suspend Slobodan Rajkovic for 12 months for spitting at the referee on 13 August 2008 after the Argentina v Serbia match at the Olympic Football Tournament.
"This suspension applies to all national and international matches including club competitions. This decision may be appealed.
Rajkovic joined the Blues as a 16-year-old from OFK Belgrade three years ago and spent last season on loan at PSV Eindhoven.
He was due to spend this term back in the Netherlands with FC Twente, who are coached by former England national team boss Steve McClaren.
