Premier League round-up

Manchester City maintained their 100 per cent record in the Premier League with victory over Arsenal as Manchester United ended Tottenham's winning start to the season. Liverpool destroyed Burnley to reaffirm their title credentials and leaders Chelsea left it late to beat Stoke City. Bolton Wanderers won the battle of the teams at the bottom after victory at Portsmouth, while Blackburn Rovers secured a first success of the season at home to Wolves. Wigan Athletic bounced back to form with a slender win at home to West Ham United as Michael Turner marked his Sunderland debut by helping his new club to thrash former team Hull City. Emmanuel Adebayor kept up his prolific form since joining Man City with a goal as Mark Hughes' side enjoyed a thrilling 4-2 win at home to Arsenal. Manuel Almunia's own goal gave City a first-half lead before Robin van Persie drew the Gunners level just past the hour mark. Craig Bellamy, Adebayor and Shaun Wright-Phillips put the game to bed for City before the returning Tomas Rosicky scored a late consolation. Defending champions Man Utd moved up to second in the table after inflicting a 3-1 defeat on Tottenham at White Hart Lane. Jermain Defoe gave Spurs, who had won their previous four matches, a dream start by scoring inside the opening 60 seconds before Ryan Giggs curled home a delightful free-kick. Anderson's first goal for United put the visitors ahead and Wayne Rooney wrapped up the points after Paul Scholes had been sent off for two bookable offences. Yossi Benayoun helped himself to a hat-trick as Liverpool produced a devastating performance to crush Burnley 4-0 at Anfield. Benayoun opened the scoring for the Reds and netted twice in the second half after Dirk Kuyt had also got in on the act. Florent Malouda scored an injury-time winner as Chelsea battled back from a goal down to beat Stoke 2-1 at the Britannia Stadium. The France international broke Stoke hearts after Didier Drogba's goal in first-half injury-time had cancelled out Abdoulaye Faye's opener for the hosts. Gary Cahill headed home an 89th minute winner as Bolton picked up their first points of the season courtesy of a 3-2 success at Portsmouth, who are still to get off the mark. Pompey had twice come from behind to appear to have done enough for a draw only for Cahill to tower above the home defence to earn Bolton a priceless win. Blackburn are also up and running for the season after a comfortable 3-1 win over promoted Wolves at Ewood Park. El Hadji Diouf, Jason Roberts and David Dunn put Rovers in command before Wolves replied late on through debutant Stefan Maierhofer. Former Hull City defender Turner had a hand in one of Sunderland's goals as Steve Bruce's side cruised to a 4-1 success at the Stadium of Light. Darren Bent scored in each half for the Black Cats before Turner's header deflected off Kamil Zayatte for the hosts' fourth goal. Hugo Rodallega's 55th minute goal was enough to give Wigan a 1-0 success over West Ham at the DW Stadium.
