Andrea Pirlo has denied claiming he would be interested in following former AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti to Chelsea.
The Italy international was quoted discussing the possibility of being reunited with coach Ancelotti in the Premier League next season.
Ancelotti has swapped Milan for Chelsea since the end of the Serie A season and Pirlo claimed he would also consider making the move to Stamford Bridge.
Speaking from the Confederations Cup in South Africa, he reportedly said: "Perhaps it's possible that I could join Ancelotti in London.
"He is a great coach, perhaps I could play with him again."
However, the 30-year-old midfielder has now denied making any such comments.
"I have never spoken with the Irish Independent and I have never told anyone anything like the quotes which have been attributed to me," he told AC Milan's official website.
