Carlisle have signed former Chelsea goalkeeper Lenny Pidgeley on a free transfer. The 25-year-old, recently released by Millwall, has joined the Cumbrians as a replacement for Colchester-bound Ben Williams. Pidgeley has penned a one-year deal and will become Carlisle's first-choice keeper, although he will face competition from Adam Collin. Manager Greg Abbott told the club`s official website: "He comes with very good recommendations in terms of his goalkeeping. He`s another who just wants to come in and play. "He has made it clear he wants to prove to people he's a top keeper and I'm happy to give him that opportunity. He's worked with a lot of good people and he wants to kick start his career again."
