PICTURE SPECIAL: Chelsea star Cashley Cole finds keeping his car up to date a little taxing

They call him 'Cashley' - but he obviously doesn't flash his money around if he can help it. Chelsea and England left-back Ashley Cole, who earns £100,000 a week, has been driving around with an out-of-date tax disc. The offence normally invokes an automatic £80 fine, while it would cost just £175 to renew for a year, but it must have slipped Cole's mind. Support: Cole's wife Cheryl (centre) with the rest of Girls Aloud Maybe his wife, Girls Aloud singer Cheryl, has been spending too much on shoes of late. Or perhaps Cole was too caught up in the aftermath of Chelsea's Champions League exit at the hands of the Barcelona last week to renew it. Either way, the slip up does little for the player's already soiled reputation. Despite a good season with Chelsea, Cole will always be associated with his acrimonious move from Arsenal in 2006. He upped sticks when the Gunners failed to meet his pay demands, and was caught in a tapping up row that saw his agent banned from operating for nine months. Arsenal fans reacted by waving fake £20 notes with Cole's picture when they visited Stamford Bridge in December 2006. Maybe they'll help fork out for a new tax disc? I doubt it, somehow.
