PFA Young Player Of The Year 2013 Nominee: Romelu Lukaku
The season is drawing to a close and the nominees for the 2013 PFA Young Player of the Year have officially been announced.
The PFA Young Player of the Year is an annual award given to the player aged 23 or under at the start of the season who is adjudged to have been the best of the year across all the professional leagues in England. There has been no shortage of worthy contenders, however six names have now been short-listed as stand-out performers this season.
Chelsea's 19-year-old Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku has been short-listed for the 2013 PFA Players' Player of the Year and PFA Young Player Awards.
Romelu Lukaku joined Chelsea from Anderlecht in August 2011. The powerful Belgian was given the number 18 shirt and made his home debut against Norwich in a 3-1 win.
Lukaku was sent on-loan to West Brom at the start of the 2012-2013 season and has been hugely impressive. He scored his first Premier League goal for The Baggies against Liverpool, coming on as a substitute in the 77th minute.
The striker scored his 10th Premier League goal for West Brom against Liverpool in a game which ended 2-0 and earned his side a Premier League double over the Reds.
The Belgian international has now scored 13 goals in 32 games for West Brom and has also contributed with 4 assists (correct at time of writing).
