Chelsea boss Avram Grant is pleased with the way his side have bounced back from their Carling Cup Final defeat after watching the Blues ease to a 3-0 win against Olympiacos in the Champions League.
Grant was criticised for his team selection when Chelsea lost 2-1 to Tottenham at Wembley but his side has responded by winning 4-0 at West ham United in the Premier League and then cruising into the quarter-finals of Europe's top competition.
A delighted Grant said after Wednesday's easy win: "The team was patient, held the ball most of the time and were quick when needed. It was clever football.
"I'm happy of course. We won, we are in the next round and played good football. The team was very mature.
"We knew Olympiacos always score away so we knew they were very dangerous.
"But I have confidence in my team. From day one I have had full confidence in the team, even though most of the people didn't believe we would have a good year.
"So far it has been a good development and that pleases me more than the results.
"We know it was a bad day in the League Cup final. We were only team from the big four to make the final. We showed since then character and good attitude. That is what is important. It's what I like."
