Portugal international Deco is happy that he decided to stay at Chelsea and is pleased to be back in the first-team squad.
The former Barcelona midfielder was linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge in the summer, and spoke of his desire to play under Jose Mourinho at Internazionale.
He arrived in west London 15 months ago but, after making a bright start to his Blues career, lost form and confidence in the second half of the campaign.
Deco said: "Last season was the worst of my career because I had never had so many injuries before.
"When you are not in the side you think about things such as leaving because of what might happen the following season.
"This season things are different. I know I am well and fit and I can play. I want to help the team and I think Carlo Ancelotti trusts me.
"When he arrived we spoke and he told me he wanted me to stay. I needed that and I am now enjoying that decision."
