No Chelsea regrets for Alves

Brazilian right-back Daniel Alves has voiced his relief at joining Barcelona rather than Chelsea.[LNB] The Blues almost signed Alves from Sevilla in 2007 but a move failed to materialise and he stayed at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan for a further season.[LNB]Barcelona then snapped up the 25-year-old last summer and he has played a key part in their excellent campaign to date.[LNB]Alves is now looking forward to Barca's UEFA Champions League semi-final against Chelsea, with the first leg set to be held at Camp Nou on 28th April.[LNB]He has no regrets about not moving to Chelsea and now hopes his current side can knock them out of Europe.[LNB]"I was close to signing with Chelsea but luckily it did not happen and I moved to a team that suits me perfectly," Alves told Marca.[LNB]"I am convinced that we are going to give people something to speak about, in the Champions League. Barca are always amongst the favourites thanks to their football and their greatness.[LNB]"We are a step closer from our target, which is to make the final in Rome. What we must do is achieve a great work at home and then qualify up there.[LNB]"Barcelona are going to be a very tough adversary for Chelsea."[LNB]
