Guus Hiddink in training with Russia on Wednesday[LNB] Guus Hiddink has strongly hinted that he could stay on as Chelsea[LNB]manager beyond the end of the season, but will continue to work as Russia coach at the same time.[LNB]The Dutchman has been appointed on a short-term contract following the sacking of Luis Felipe Scolari earlier this week.[LNB]And if he is successful Hiddink admits an extension to that contract cannot be ruled out.[LNB]'Let's not predict for such a long time,' he told Sport Express.[LNB]'I have no such thoughts as we talked only about the work till the end of the season. When we reach the end of the season we will talk about it.[LNB]'And who knows maybe this story with Chelsea will get its continuation.[LNB]Hiddink magnificently guided the Russians through a tough European Championship qualifying group, inclduing Croatia and England, and then led them to the semi-finals of last year's tournament in Austria and Switzerland.[LNB]Despite many in Russia now being worried that his new role with the London club will undermine his international work, Hiddink insists he will see the Russians through to the conclusion of their 2010 World Cup campaign.[LNB] 'Before I agreed to work in Chelsea I was thinking about it for a long time, I weighed the pros and cons.[LNB]'I thought how my work in England could tell on the Russian national team. And I concluded that the team's interests wouldn't be infringed in any way.[LNB]'I'd like to underline that I am responsible for the result of the World Cup 2010 course and I want the national team to perform well.[LNB] Hiddink will watch Chelsea's FA Cup tie at Watford this weekend[LNB]'Everything concerning the Russian team is precisely planned till the end of the year. In August we have a friendly, in September and October we will prepare for the sparring matches.[LNB]'And if our team ends up second in the group we will have necessary days to prepare for the play-offs.'[LNB]Hiddink will be well aware that despite recent difficulties Chelsea are still very much in the hunt for silverware despite losing ground in the title race.[LNB]A European Cup showdown with Juventus is to come later this month, and the Blues travel to Watford on Saturday in the fifth round of the FA Cup, a match Hiddink is due to attend.[LNB] Terry tells Chelsea to make Hiddink stay beyond the end of the season[LNB]Lampard demands Chelsea unity as Hiddink prepares to start rebuilding the Bridge[LNB]Ancelotti: I've snubbed Chelsea before and I'll do it again[LNB]CHELSEA FC NEWS FROM ACROSS THE NET[LNB][LNB] [LNB]
