Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is set to meet Professional Game Match Official chief Keith Hackett in the wake of the controversy surrounding Graham Poll's handling of the Blues' defeat at Tottenham on Sunday.
Chelsea skipper John Terry has accused Poll of changing his reasons for showing him a red card in the second half of the 2-1 defeat at White Hart Lane, while Ashley Cole has suggested that the official had a major impact on the final result.
A statement from last season's Premiership winners said: "Chelsea FC can confirm that Jose Mourinho and Keith Hackett have been in contact since the match against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
"Mourinho sent Hackett a private email on Monday in which he stressed his respect for the head of the Professional Game Match Officials Board who he has met before.
"Although the exact contents of this email will remain private, in general terms it addressed some refereeing issues which have arisen this season. Mourinho made it clear he was open to discuss these and hearing the views of all sides."
Mourinho added: "I am happy to hear Mr Hackett is prepared to meet and I will meet with him when he wants. I have confidence that he is a football man and he respects the views of other football people."
Terry had earlier said of Poll's decision to send him off on Sunday: "I'm still really baffled by it, I've looked at it myself over and over again.
"Me and Ledley (King) fell to the floor, we got up, we had words, but I used to play Sunday football with him.
"On the pitch Graham Poll said to me it was for the barge on Ghaly. After the game it was said for the fall when me and Ledley King fell.
"So I'm just really disappointed, it was my first time being sent off for Chelsea."
