Mourinho eyes Bridge raid
04 Jun 2008 - 07:50:20
Newly-installed Internazionale coach Jose Mourinho has suggested he could return to Chelsea to sign some of his former players.
The Portuguese coach's return to management was confirmed by Inter on Tuesday after he was unveiled as Roberto Mancini's successor.
Mourinho had been hotly tipped to take the post at the San Siro following his departure from Chelsea in September 2007.
But after promising Inter fans 'two or three new signings' the former Chelsea boss could not resist dropping a hint that he could return to Stamford Bridge to renew acquaintances with some of his former players.
Didier Drogba, Michael Essien, Ricardo Carvalho and Frank Lampard are all rumoured to be on his summer shopping list.
"I think it is normal as a consequence of the relationship with my players," said Mourinho when asked about rumours that he is keen to sign current Chelsea players.
"Almost all of them want to work with me again in the future and the same goes for me.
"I have a great relationship with almost all of my players and it is normal that these rumours spread.
"But it depends on whether Chelsea want to sell. There has got to be a relation between what one club wants and what another club wants to do.
"The president (Massimo Moratti) knows what I would like, but I am not discussing names with the press. I am not ready to do that."
