Mourinho helping police after Inter Milan manager's home is targeted by burglars

Jose Mourinho is helping police with their inquiries after they foiled a Macedonian gang who allegedly planned to raid the Inter Milan coach's home in Como.

It is reported that the gang were ready to burgle Mourinho's villa after building up a diary of his movements and timings so they could strike when he was away.

Police in Genoa discovered documents that contained ex-Chelsea boss Mourinho's address plus photographs and details of his car.

Mourinho was questioned by investigators with his assistant, Giuseppe Baresi left to take the press conference ahead of Wednesday's match against Parma.

It is believed the Macedonian gang is connected to a network of Italian criminals who had already attempted to target Atalanta players.

Mourinho has taken steps to increase the security at his home.
